The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Romeu Novaes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Adhemar Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 10 minutes, Júlio Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brochier and the PlayArt FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Brochier's Júlio Oliveira got a free kick in the 10th minute. Norberto Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Alvarenga in the 11th minute of play. In the 16thth minute of the game Wilson Alvarenga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brochier's Norberto Paraíba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Emerson Lucas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 24th minute of the match Richard Arósio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romeu Novaes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wilson Alvarenga struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Norberto Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PlayArt FC. Norberto Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rodolfo Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Emerson Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Brochier fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Lucas couldn't finish the play. Emerson Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodolfo Pinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Romeu Novaes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. After 47 minutes, Isaltino Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PlayArt FC and the Brochier players grew even worse after the yellow card. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Wilson Alvarenga managed to get in a good position for a shot. PlayArt FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilson Alvarenga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adhemar Tasso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Norberto Paraíba skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wilson Alvarenga had several of the Brochier's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 74 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Norberto Paraíba as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 81st minute, Wilson Alvarenga fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Norberto Paraíba, passed just outside the right post. Adhemar Tasso struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Norberto Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PlayArt FC. Romeu Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
