Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dieguinho Trevisan started the match with the kick off. When Rogério de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santanna FC Clube's protests and gave Rogério de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Aracassu booed when Santanna FC Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogério de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santanna FC Clube's Laerte Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieguinho Trevisan in the 9th minute of play. Dieguinho Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aracassu's João Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 18th minute Dieguinho Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Galvão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Santanna FC Clube's Haroldo Furtado got a free kick in the 21st minute. Aracassu's Dieguinho Trevisan got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Galvão having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdir Motta during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aracassu's Dieguinho Trevisan got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Laerte Galvão came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Aracassu's João Rodrigues. But to his dismay, João Rodrigues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Laerte Galvão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho Trevisan in the 38th minute of play. João Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Laerte Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Délio Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Sebastião Berger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Rodrigues struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Laerte Galvão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aracassu. Valdir Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Laerte Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Santanna FC Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Leite to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rogério de Moraes to make the kick off. If Sebastião Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeferson Paranaense charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeferson Paranaense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 62 played minutes Santanna FC Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Paranaense. When Valdir Motta came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Aracassu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdir Motta couldn't finish the play. Dieguinho Trevisan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Galvão having to interfere. A hard shot 69 in the game by Frédson Queirós from a close distance when the talented Laerte Galvão managed to make a qualified save. Santanna FC Clube's players were relieved. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Santanna FC Clube's goalkeeper Laerte Galvão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dieguinho Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santanna FC Clube's Laerte Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Motta in the 78th minute of play. Dieguinho Trevisan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sebastião Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agostinho Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valdir Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Laerte Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Galvão having to interfere.
