Leopoldo Palmeira came out of the goal and Luís Paulo Arantes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilvan Pena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfredinho Macedo. JanZan's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luís Paulo Arantes took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Palmeira. Leopoldo Palmeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Luís Paulo Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Leopoldo Palmeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th minute of the match, Noel Lopez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Leopoldo Palmeira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to JanZan getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Emílio Fontes hit a great ball. After 34 played minutes, JanZan's Nelson de Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leopoldo Palmeira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in JanZan reached it. In the 37th minute, Dráuzio Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 38 played minutes, Chiapetta's Carlos Alberto Vander shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfredinho Macedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chiapetta reached it. After a rather tough play, JanZan's Noel Lopez got a free kick in the 40th minute. Antônio Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredinho Macedo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gilvan Pena during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Chiapetta got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Pena. Leopoldo Palmeira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luís Paulo Arantes in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Agnaldo Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Chiapetta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agnaldo Maranhense couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Paranaense in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredinho Macedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Noel Lopez in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Palmeira saved Chiapetta from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Chiapetta's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Paulo Arantes came free, but Leopoldo Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agnaldo Maranhense charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agnaldo Maranhense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of JanZan booed when Chiapetta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 minutes, Samuel Rosado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chiapetta and the JanZan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel Rosado hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Noel Lopez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The JanZan fans cheered their team off the field, for while Chiapetta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
