Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) When Pangare's Paulo Sena in 5 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Germano Furlan guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Paulo Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Furlan having to interfere. When Sidney Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pangare's protests and gave Sidney Mazza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Athletico Paranaense booed when Pangare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute Paulo Sena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Pangare's Zézinho Cardoso got a free kick in the 28th minute. The supporters of Athletico Paranaense booed when Pangare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Athletico Paranaense's Felippe Sanches tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Paulo Sena took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Germano Furlan. Germano Furlan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sidney Mazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Sena to make the kick off. Valério Peixoto struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Dedé dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athletico Paranaense. After a rather tough play, Athletico Paranaense's Manuel Loyola got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Paulo Sena fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Germano Furlan, passed just outside the right post. Germano Furlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sidney Mazza in the 62nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulo Sena in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Germano Furlan saved Athletico Paranaense from getting behind. 76 minutes into the game, Manuel Loyola was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Athletico Paranaense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pangare the free kick. When Valério Peixoto came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Athletico Paranaense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valério Peixoto couldn't finish the play. 81 minutes into the match, Paulo Sena notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Athletico Paranaense's Germano Furlan. Germano Furlan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute of the match Walmir Simões sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dedé dos Santos skillfully saved the ball. Germano Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Sena in the 89th minute of the match. Ronaldão de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Dedé dos Santos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Athletico Paranaense. Pangare played a much better game than Athletico Paranaense and deserved their victory. The Athletico Paranaense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
