After a defensive mix-up in vicentina's zone, Toninho de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Hoffmann came out of the goal and Toninho de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fellipe Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored vicentina's protests and gave Fellipe Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for vicentina! The referee gave Batelao a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sílvio Zonta, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of vicentina's Alex Hoffmann. 1-0. vicentina's Alex Hoffmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Viana in the 15th minute of play. Marcinho Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner de Andrade in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Toninho de Alcântara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batelao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave vicentina the free kick. 27 minutes into the game, vicentina's Ulisses Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcinho Romero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 30 minutes into the game, Wágner de Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. vicentina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Batelao the free kick. In the 30th minute, Wágner de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walmir Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alex Hoffmann having to interfere. A collision led to Batelao getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Ivo Tróia hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match, Walmir Viana tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alex Hoffmann saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Toninho de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Alex Hoffmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batelao. In the 41st minute, Jefferson Nunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44thth minute of the game Walmir Viana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but vicentina's Alex Hoffmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 46th minute, Batelao's Walmir Viana ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alex Hoffmann. Alex Hoffmann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wágner de Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ulisses Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Marcinho Romero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. vicentina's Wágner de Andrade got his second yellow card of the match in the 59th minute. The referee ordered Wágner de Andrade off the ground. In the 60th match minute, vicentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wágner de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Fellipe Rossi was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 68th minute, one of vicentina:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for vicentina. Walmir Viana struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Alex Hoffmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batelao. After a rather tough play, Batelao's Percival Catarinense got a free kick in the 79th minute. Alex Hoffmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batelao. After 91 minutes of play, Batelao's Walmir Viana made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alex Hoffmann was left in no man's land by his defense there! Batelao were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of vicentina for a fine match.
