ALVINEGRO.LHP's Victor Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldão de Azevedo in the 14th minute of play. Ademar Nogueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Furlan having to interfere. Ademar Nogueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Germano Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Armando Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Tinoco in the 25th minute of play forced Athletico Paranaense's goalkeeper Germano Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldão de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. ALVINEGRO.LHP's Ademar Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Armando Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Athletico Paranaense's goal looked a bit too open when Ademar Nogueira came free, but Germano Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Tinoco made a kick off. Victor Cerezo came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Athletico Paranaense's Valério Peixoto. But to his dismay, Valério Peixoto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Armando Tinoco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Germano Furlan having to make a save. Ronaldão de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Victor Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Betão Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ALVINEGRO.LHP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Athletico Paranaense the free kick. A collision led to ALVINEGRO.LHP getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Betão Domingues hit a great ball. In the 66th minute, Betão Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Cerezo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valério Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 75 played minutes, ALVINEGRO.LHP's Dadá Saldanha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Germano Furlan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ALVINEGRO.LHP reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronaldão de Azevedo in the 82nd minute of play forced ALVINEGRO.LHP's goalkeeper Victor Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Armando Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 86 minutes, Ademar Nogueira made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Athletico Paranaense's Germano Furlan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronaldão de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute.
