Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Emílio Bueno started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Tamboata's goalkeeper Giovani Correia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Augusto Favoretto. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Botelho during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 7 minutes into the match, Tocaya EC's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Loureiro came free, but Frédson Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Emílio Bueno fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Augusto Favoretto got free with Giovani Correia in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frédson Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Silveira in the 11th minute of play. After 12 played minutes Tocaya EC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Fernando Figueiredo. After a rather tough play, Tocaya EC's Carlos Fernando Figueiredo got a free kick in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Tamboata's zone, Emílio Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovani Correia came out of the goal and Emílio Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 27 played minutes Tocaya EC got a freekick which was hit by Albertinho Medeiros. Emílio Bueno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emílio Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Giovani Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Tamboata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Motta to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Aníbal Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Moreno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 50th minute Aníbal Moreno suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Carlos Fernando Figueiredo charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Fernando Figueiredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Giovani Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Bueno in the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Emílio Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tocaya EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovani Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laerte Sousa hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Frédson Fernandez came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Tamboata's Carlos Fernando Silveira. But to his dismay, Carlos Fernando Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 82 minutes, Carlos Fernando Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Fernando Silveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernesto Loureiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frédson Fernandez having to make a save. Carlos Fernando Silveira struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Frédson Fernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tamboata.
