Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Walmir Viana took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Batelao's goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Cardoso came free, but Marcinho Romero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pangare! Toninho de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Leite during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pangare's Edgard Leite got a free kick in the 27th minute. Walmir Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dedé dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho de Alcântara in the 34th minute of the match. Toninho de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Batelao's zone, Sidney Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Romero came out of the goal and Sidney Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zézinho Cardoso to make the kick off. After 52 minutes of play, Pangare's Edgard Leite made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcinho Romero was left in no man's land by his defense there! Antônio Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Batelao's Toninho de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Toninho de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batelao's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedé dos Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 67 minutes, Walmir Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Batelao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Quirino in the 75th minute of play forced Batelao's goalkeeper Marcinho Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Toninho de Alcântara fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Dedé dos Santos, passed just outside the right post. Sidney Mazza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Romero having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Batelao's zone, Sidney Mazza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Romero came out of the goal and Sidney Mazza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Batelao's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
