An unexpectedly hard shot by Juvenal de Barros in the 9th minute of play forced Dula's goalkeeper Mário Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Rodri Gol made a precise shot to the right of Mário Gaúcho. Dula's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodri Gol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mário Gaúcho. That made the score 4-0 in the 18 minute of play. Mário Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Porto in the 23rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodri Gol kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mário Gaúcho. That made the score 5-0 in the 24 minute of play. In the 28th match minute, Dula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Martins to maneuver through the defense. Róbson Falcão succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 6-0 in the 29th playminute. After 32 minutes, Rodri Gol made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Dula's Mário Gaúcho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Elói Rodrigues hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Róbson Falcão ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. 41 minutes into the match, Antônio Carlos Marquez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mário Gaúcho. Dula's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Carlos Marquez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Mário Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juvenal de Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Dula's Eliézer Martins got a free kick in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eliézer Martins made a kick off. Róbson Falcão took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Gaúcho. Mário Gaúcho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. In the 57th minute Juvenal de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dula's Mário Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodri Gol in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Cássio Porto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mário Gaúcho. But to his dismay, Juvenal de Barros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 12-0. 68 minutes into the game, Juvenal de Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 13-0. Mário Gaúcho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 71 played minutes Dula got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Loureiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Miranda in the 72nd minute of play forced Dula's goalkeeper Mário Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Róbson Falcão notched a goal, 14-0, to the right of Dula's Mário Gaúcho. Mário Gaúcho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mário Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Porto in the 77th minute of play. Dula's Mário Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal de Barros in the 78th minute of play. The GRÊMIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 16-0. Mário Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodri Gol in the 93rd minute of play. After 93 played minutes Dula got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Martins. In the 96th minute Cássio Porto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mário Gaúcho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Falcão in the 97th minute of the match. GRÊMIO walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
