When Anselmo dos Santos came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Casagrande FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo dos Santos couldn't finish the play. In the 41st minute Raí Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Casagrande FC's Leopoldo Mendonça to fire away a dangerous shot which Dadá dos Santos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 46th minute Marcos Recife shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zeca Nogueira to make the kick off. Leopoldo Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Bernardinho Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. EC Raven's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flávio Batista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Manuel da Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EC Raven's protests and gave Manuel da Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. Manuel da Fonseca hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 0-1 became the score in the 61st minute when Anselmo dos Santos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Zeca Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Casagrande FC's Anselmo dos Santos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dadá dos Santos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Anselmo dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raí Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dadá dos Santos having to make a save. Anselmo dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. After a rather tough play, EC Raven's Manuel da Fonseca got a free kick in the 85th minute. Casagrande FC's Flávio Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Nogueira in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute Donato Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
