Juarês Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 27 minutes into the game, Tranqueira's Joaquim Messias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osvaldo Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Edvaldo Alvarenga hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The ball went over the crossbar instead. Durval Guimarães was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 60th minute Joaquim Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 60 played minutes Montese FC got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo Alvarenga. An unexpected shot in the 67th minute by Cipriano Tepedino got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Tomás Capixaba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juarês Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Laércio Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Tomás Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Silveira in the 70th minute of play. Montese FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joaquim Messias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Cipriano Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
