Cristóvão Rosado might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Osvaldo Meirelles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristóvão Rosado ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 20th minute Flávio Vieira collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. 20 minutes into the game, Cipriano Tepedino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montese FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA Santo André the free kick. A collision led to Montese FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Cipriano Tepedino hit a great ball. If Cristóvão Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Tepedino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Hílton Chaves made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Cristóvão Rosado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osvaldo Meirelles was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Osvaldo Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Cristóvão Rosado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldo Meirelles was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tomé Fernandes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hílton Chaves. CA Santo André's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hílton Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Tepedino in the 76th minute of the match. Cristóvão Rosado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldo Meirelles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Charles Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Santo André's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles Mota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldo Meirelles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Tepedino in the 82nd minute of play forced CA Santo André's goalkeeper Hílton Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Cristóvão Rosado dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Osvaldo Meirelles, 1-2. A sloppy throw-in by Alberto Moreira in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by CA Santo André's Geovânio Aguiar. Juarês Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Chaves having to interfere. The Montese FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. CA Santo André were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
