The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ciro Rosado during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tranqueira getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Ciro Rosado hit a great ball. Zézinho Vianna hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to CA Santo André getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Flávio Vieira hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match Zézinho Vianna shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hílton Chaves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Simão Favoretto took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hílton Chaves. Hílton Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. CA Santo André's Hílton Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Messias in the 21st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tranqueira's zone, Cauã de Godoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomás Capixaba came out of the goal and Cauã de Godoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tranqueira's Tomás Capixaba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Tranqueira from getting a goal against them. If Leandro Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Sampaio in the 29th minute of play forced CA Santo André's goalkeeper Hílton Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Leandro Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Chaves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristóvão Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Tranqueira's Leandro Sampaio got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Cristóvão Rosado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CA Santo André fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leandro Sampaio to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joaquim Messias got free with Hílton Chaves in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 57 minutes of play, CA Santo André's Cristóvão Rosado made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomás Capixaba was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Chaves in the 60th minute of play forced Tranqueira's goalkeeper Tomás Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertinho Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tomás Capixaba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 minutes, Cristóvão Rosado made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. Tranqueira's Tomás Capixaba tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Cauã de Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Santo André's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauã de Godoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Capixaba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Albertinho Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão Rosado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Capixaba having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristóvão Rosado in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Capixaba prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
