In the 7th minute, Raí Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Igor Brasil hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Benê Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raí Toscano in the 15th minute of play. Raí Toscano took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benê Gaspar. Benê Gaspar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Igor Brasil kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alessandro Dracena. That made the score 1-1 in the 21 minute of play. In the 24th minute, Guto de Senna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alessandro Dracena was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Di Calcanha's zone, Raí Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benê Gaspar came out of the goal and Raí Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Cristian Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raí Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldão Bastos during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Buja FC booed when Di Calcanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donato dos Santos struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Benê Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buja FC. Benê Gaspar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raí Toscano's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Cristian Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benê Gaspar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí Toscano in the 41st minute of play forced Di Calcanha's goalkeeper Benê Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raí Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Benê Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Raí Toscano made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Di Calcanha getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Ronaldão Bastos hit a great ball. Raí Toscano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Benê Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Di Calcanha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raí Toscano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. If Raí Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 played minutes Di Calcanha got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldão Bastos. 82 minutes into the game, Buja FC's Elder Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benê Gaspar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Benê Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato dos Santos in the 88th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Leopoldo Medeiros took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Benê Gaspar to make any attempt to save it. The Di Calcanha fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Buja FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
