Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 7 minutes into the game, Jano Cordeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chaveando's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E Frei Damião the free kick. If José Pedro Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th match minute, S.E Frei Damião was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredinho Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. José Chilavert made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto Meireles in the 14th minute. José Pedro Carvalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raphael Salles having to make a save. In the 16th minute Washington Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of S.E Frei Damião booed when Chaveando was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Messias hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joélson Varela during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chaveando booed when S.E Frei Damião was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Pedro Carvalho in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raphael Salles saved Chaveando from getting behind. 31 minutes into the match, S.E Frei Damião's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Pinheiro came free, but José Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when José Pedro Carvalho sped through Chaveando's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raphael Salles. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Giuseppe do Nascimento was the one to do the kick off. José Pedro Carvalhos short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Raphael Salles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Washington Fernandez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 91 in the game by José Pedro Carvalho from a close distance when the talented Raphael Salles managed to make a qualified save. Chaveando's players were relieved. José Pedro Carvalho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Raphael Salles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. S.E Frei Damião's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
