Régis de Queiroz started the match with the kick off. BNU FC's Willian de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Tinoco in the 3rd minute of play. In the 4th minute of the match, Régis de Queiroz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bebeto Alves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 8th minute, Hugo Tinoco made a precise shot to the right of Willian de Salles. BNU FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind BNU FC's goalkeeper Willian de Salles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Tinoco in the 13th minute of play forced BNU FC's goalkeeper Willian de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hugo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 20 minutes into the game, Rubinho Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capuaba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BNU FC the free kick. Hugo Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Willian de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capuaba. Capuaba's Luiz Guilherme Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Hugo Tinoco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian de Salles was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 32nd minute Luiz Guilherme Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Willian de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Guilherme Moraes in the 35th minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian de Salles having to interfere. Carlos Lemes short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Bebeto Alves to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Hugo Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Willian de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Régis de Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bebeto Alves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Hugo Tinoco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Willian de Salles came out and tried to block the shot, but Hugo Tinoco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 60th minute. Célio Coutinho's late challenge caught a Capuaba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Célio Coutinho helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BNU FC's Célio Coutinho got a free kick in the 66th minute. Hugo Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Willian de Salles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Capuaba's Luiz Guilherme Moraes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Willian de Salles. Willian de Salles yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Willian de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 87 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capuaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Capuaba's Hugo Tinoco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Willian de Salles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, Capuaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado de Brito to maneuver through the defense. Capuaba played a much better game than BNU FC and deserved their victory. The BNU FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
