The Greenback Boogie SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hortêncio Zanette should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Greenback Boogie SC booed when S.E Frei Damião was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Pedro Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Washington Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reginaldo Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If José Pedro Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. José Chilavert came out of the goal and Delfim Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and José Pedro Carvalho made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match, Washington Fernandez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hortêncio Zanette saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joélson Varela scored 1-7 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hortêncio Zanette, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. José Pedro Carvalho scored 1-8 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hortêncio Zanette, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
