The supporters of Piraguara SS booed when Jajuaryahiva was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Piraguara SS's goal looked a bit too open when Adilson Paulista came free, but Dênis Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Piraguara SS's Percival Matos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Trigo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. If Fred Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adilson Paulista in the 32nd minute of play forced Piraguara SS's goalkeeper Dênis Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Piraguara SS's Wilson Trigo threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fred Rossi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Percival Matos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
