Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Lúcio Alves started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Richard Dionísio charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Dionísio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, BAHIA's Richard Dionísio got a free kick in the 8th minute. The supporters of BAHIA booed when Manino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. BAHIA were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Manino's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bruninho Guedes took the corner. BAHIA's Bruninho Guedes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Duda Arósio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Manino's Duda Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Loyola in the 14th minute of play. After 15 played minutes Manino got a freekick which was hit by Lúcio Alves. Richard Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Dionísio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Duda Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Duda Arósio made a huge save. 35 minutes into the match, Manino's goal looked a bit too open when Dida Loyola came free, but Duda Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 37 minutes, Arlindo Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arlindo Machado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lúcio Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dida Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Richard Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the BAHIA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Dionísio couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute Arlindo Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felippe Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dida Loyola was the one to do the kick off. Lúcio Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lúcio Alves came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Manino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Alves couldn't finish the play. Duda Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duda Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dida Loyola in the 68th minute of play. Lúcio Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Rodrigues having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, BAHIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorginho de Castro to maneuver through the defense. Lúcio Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Manino's Lúcio Alves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felippe Rodrigues narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lúcio Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Rodrigues having to interfere. Arlindo Machado struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Felippe Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manino. Arlindo Machado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Felippe Rodrigues firmly grabbed it by the left post. Manino's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
