In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iguaçu Football Club's goalkeeper Enéas Tróia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Walmyr Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Arósio having to interfere. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Walmyr Amorim sped through Manino's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Duda Arósio. Duda Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Miranda in the 17th minute of play. Walmyr Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda Arósio having to interfere. Walmyr Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmyr Amorim's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Duda Arósio firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arlindo Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Álvaro Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Carlos Fernando Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iguaçu Football Club's Enéas Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Machado in the 44th minute of play. Vitório Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lúcio Alves made a kick off. Lúcio Alves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manino's Lúcio Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Duda Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When João Francisco Branco fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iguaçu Football Club's protests and gave João Francisco Branco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Iguaçu Football Club's João Francisco Branco got a free kick in the 63rd minute. If Lúcio Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmyr Amorim blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duda Arósio having to make a save. Vitório Miranda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duda Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Lúcio Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manino's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enéas Tróia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Lúcio Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Iguaçu Football Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Manino were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
