Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Franklin Santana took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luiz Donato in the 4th minute of play forced BAHIA's goalkeeper Felippe Rodrigues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Carioca booed when BAHIA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglas de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cauã Oliveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida Loyola in the 11th minute of the match. Franklin Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Rodrigues having to interfere. The audience was convinced that André Luiz Donato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Felippe Rodrigues was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Felippe Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luiz Donato in the 28th minute of play. Felippe Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Luiz Donato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Luiz Donato might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felippe Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Luiz Donato ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorginho de Castro's late challenge caught a Carioca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorginho de Castro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BAHIA's Jorginho de Castro got a free kick in the 37th minute. Jarbas Lucas, 37 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If André Luiz Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Dida Loyola made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, BAHIA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Bastos to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th match minute, Carioca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ediberto Santana to maneuver through the defense. Richard Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luiz Donato in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Felippe Rodrigues, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Franklin Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Ediberto Santana recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Felippe Rodrigues. Ediberto Santana showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 70th minute Dida Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cauã Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Franklin Santana came free, but Felippe Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 75 played minutes BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by Douglas de Carvalho. After a rather tough play, BAHIA's Douglas de Carvalho got a free kick in the 76th minute. 79 minutes into the match, André Luiz Donato had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felippe Rodrigues. BAHIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that André Luiz Donato was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Douglas de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felippe Rodrigues made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when André Luiz Donato sent off a good shot on target. Marcelo Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Felippe Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carioca's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
