The supporters of BAHIA booed when Ca o Du was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Richard Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fernando Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Cícero Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Dida Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorginho Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cícero de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe Rodrigues having to interfere. Felippe Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 23 minutes into the match, BAHIA's Dida Loyola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorginho Barbosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felippe Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guga Brasil, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute, BAHIA's Richard Dionísio ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorginho Barbosa. Jorginho Barbosa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jorginho Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Guga Brasil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dida Loyola to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Ca o Du got a freekick which was hit by Guga Brasil. Jorginho Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. If Dida Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BAHIA's Bruninho Guedes couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 61st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ca o Du. Ca o Du's Jorginho Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Loyola in the 63rd minute of play. Richard Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Barbosa having to interfere. Jorginho Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dida Loyola in the 66th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in BAHIA's zone, Cícero de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe Rodrigues came out of the goal and Cícero de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, BAHIA's Douglas de Carvalho got a free kick in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Guga Brasil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felippe Rodrigues. BAHIA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guga Brasil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Felippe Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero de Amaral in the 79th minute of play. Guga Brasil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cícero de Amaral in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felippe Rodrigues saved BAHIA from getting behind. If Dida Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida Loyola in the 95th minute of play forced Ca o Du's goalkeeper Jorginho Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cícero Quadros during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 96 played minutes Ca o Du got a freekick which was hit by Cícero Quadros. Jorginho Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Dionísio in the 97th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
