S.E. Betteguense's Vicente Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genílson Paraíba in the 6th minute of play. Ponte Sumaré's Bernardinho Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Teixeira in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genílson Paraíba in the 11th minute of play forced S.E. Betteguense's goalkeeper Vicente Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 11 played minutes S.E. Betteguense got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Nogueira. Rafael Veloso struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Vicente Maia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponte Sumaré. Luís Gustavo do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Hortêncio Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hortêncio Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Duarte having to interfere. Hortêncio Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Bernardinho Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmílson Leal hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Ernesto Ferraz came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the S.E. Betteguense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Ferraz couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponte Sumaré's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Betteguense the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ponte Sumaré's Carlos Fernando Reis got a free kick in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Ernesto Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Betteguense's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Ferraz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardinho Duarte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardinho Duarte came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E. Betteguense's Hortêncio Teixeira. But to his dismay, Hortêncio Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ernesto Ferraz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Duarte having to interfere. Vicente Maia acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 41st minute, took the ball on the long shot from João Augusto Macedo. Ponte Sumaré's Bernardinho Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Teixeira in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hortêncio Teixeira to make the kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Genílson Paraíba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.E. Betteguense's Vicente Maia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, S.E. Betteguense's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson Paraíba came free, but Vicente Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hortêncio Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vicente Maia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rafael Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. 65 minutes into the match, Genílson Paraíba notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of S.E. Betteguense's Vicente Maia. Vicente Maia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Genílson Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Veloso scored 2-1 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vicente Maia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 77 minutes, Ernesto Ferraz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E. Betteguense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Ferraz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
