Spectators: 6659 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 0) Hortêncio Teixeira started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Hortêncio Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Matinho getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Edgard Travassos hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Dráusio Sabóia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Matinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Betteguense the free kick. After a rather tough play, Matinho's Ulysses das Neves got a free kick in the 19th minute. Zé Roberto Rosado came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E. Betteguense's Hortêncio Teixeira. But to his dismay, Hortêncio Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vicente Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Azevedo in the 27th minute of the match. Matinho's Zé Roberto Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Ferraz in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, S.E. Betteguense's Mathias Duarte got a free kick in the 39th minute. After the first half S.E. Betteguense were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelo Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. Vitinho Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vitinho Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to S.E. Betteguense getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Vitinho Nogueira hit a great ball. Richard Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Vicente Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Matinho getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Angelo Azevedo hit a great ball. After 55 minutes of play Matinho's Dráusio Sabóia was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Dráusio Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Vivaldo Trigo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Rosado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After 72 minutes of play, Matinho's Ulysses das Neves made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Maia was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Hortêncio Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, one of Matinho:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Matinho. In the 81st match minute, Matinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses das Neves to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Matinho's zone, Hortêncio Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Roberto Rosado came out of the goal and Hortêncio Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Zé Roberto Rosado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Matinho fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. S.E. Betteguense were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
