Eduardo Sabóia's late challenge caught a Botafogo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Braga got free with Giovanni Guimarães in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Lúcio Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 25 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goalkeeper Giovanni Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaristo Braga. If Evaristo Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Moura13's Cristian Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Sá in the 28th minute of play. Cristian Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesinha Dantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Giovanni Guimarães made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evaristo Braga in the 41st minute. When João Vítor Fontes fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Sá made a kick off. The Botafogo fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Botafogo's Cesinha Dantas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Botafogo booed when Moura13 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cesinha Dantas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Cristian Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
