When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Sergipano made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Clube Keller's zone, Paulo Renato de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Quadros came out of the goal and Paulo Renato de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelinho Branco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wágner Fantini in the 55th minute. Lino Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Paulo Renato de Alcântara came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Bonecu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Renato de Alcântara couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Clube Keller's goalkeeper Amadeu Quadros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esporte Clube Keller's Wágner Fantini got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd match minute, Bonecu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reginaldo Gerber to maneuver through the defense. If Reginaldo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lino Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Bonecu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Capixaba couldn't finish the play. Bonecu's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
