Agostinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. João Carlos Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Gualter Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rebaixados F.C.'s João Carlos Alagoano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Rebaixados F.C. from getting a goal against them. 63 minutes into the match, Piauna EC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Sanches came free, but Edmundo Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gualter Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Alagoano having to interfere. Enéas Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Piauna EC's Durvalino Vasconcelos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Carlos Alagoano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enéas Albuquerque was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 96th minute. Piauna EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.
