Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Durvalino Vasconcelos in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michel Freire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Luiz Braga got free with Edmundo Nascimento in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Gualter Baptista fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaibim's protests and gave Gualter Baptista a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Gualter Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enéas Albuquerque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Michel Freire having to make a save. 37 minutes into the match, Agostinho de Barros notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Guaibim's Michel Freire. Michel Freire was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 40th minute of the match Piauna EC got a corner. Guaibim's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Durvalino Vasconcelos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Durvalino Vasconcelos made a great header on Piauna EC's corner, it was just that Guaibim's Michel Freire managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durvalino Vasconcelos in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michel Freire saved Guaibim from getting behind. Guaibim's Michel Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Vasconcelos in the 44th minute of play. Fabiano Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Freire having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Luiz Braga was the one to do the kick off. Agostinho de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 52ndth minute of the game Durvalino Vasconcelos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guaibim's Michel Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Durvalino Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Durvalino Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Durvalino Vasconcelos made a precise shot to the right of Michel Freire. Guaibim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Durvalino Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michel Freire having to interfere. Durvalino Vasconcelos in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Michel Freire, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Guaibim's zone, Enéas Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Michel Freire came out of the goal and Enéas Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Piauna EC's Durvalino Vasconcelos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Michel Freire. Michel Freire yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. When Enéas Albuquerque came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Piauna EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Albuquerque couldn't finish the play. Michel Freire was a little too slow when Luís de Amaral got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-5. Durvalino Vasconcelos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enéas Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Michel Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Michel Freire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Vasconcelos's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Michel Freire came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Piauna EC's Durvalino Vasconcelos. But to his dismay, Durvalino Vasconcelos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Michel Freire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agostinho de Barros in the 86th minute. If Enéas Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Guaibim fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Piauna EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
