Eriberto Gomes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Zonta in the 5th minute of play. Edgar Guerra in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eriberto Gomes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Máximus FC's Vítor Guimarães in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lourdes SS's goalie prevented a goal. In the 16th minute, Aílton de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lourdes SS's Eriberto Gomes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Lourdes SS from getting a goal against them. Eriberto Gomes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Guimarães in the 31st minute of the match. Edgar Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adilson Gomes during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adilson Gomes hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Aloísio Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lourdes SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aloísio Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aloísio Santos to make the kick off. Máximus FC's Zé Paulo Zonta suffered a concussion in the 51st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Alfredão Loureiro's late challenge caught a Máximus FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredão Loureiro helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Lourdes SS got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Loureiro. After 54 played minutes Lourdes SS got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Sampaio. Enio Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgar Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute, Adilson Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 70 minutes into the match, Edgar Guerra notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Lourdes SS's Eriberto Gomes. Eriberto Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Paulo Renato Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lourdes SS's Noel Prata got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noel Prata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes of play Lourdes SS's Alfredão Loureiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 84th minute, Victor Camargo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lourdes SS's Eriberto Gomes didn't even have to move. Vítor Guimarães scored 2-0 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eriberto Gomes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Guerra in the 94th minute of play forced Lourdes SS's goalkeeper Eriberto Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Máximus FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lourdes SS for a fine match.
