Marina Futebol booed when Londrina EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo França showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guga Dias in the 18th minute of the match. Anselmo França made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Amorim in the 26th minute of play. If Dito Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, M. Marina Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Borges came free, but Renatinho Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renatinho Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gino Carneiro in the 36th minute. Anselmo França came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by M. Marina Futebol's Chico Amorim. But to his dismay, Chico Amorim quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half M. Marina Futebol were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chico Amorim was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, M. Marina Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Borges came free, but Renatinho Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Gino Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renatinho Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Londrina EC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Clóvis Tinoco hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Londrina EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Guga Dias fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Londrina EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave M. Marina Futebol the free kick. In the 79th match minute, Londrina EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliézer Moura to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico Amorim in the 84th minute of play forced Londrina EC's goalkeeper Anselmo França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Londrina EC's Gino Carneiro got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marina Futebol supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing M. Marina Futebol would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
