After a rather tough play, ɢɛʀѳʜʋʍʍєℓs's Dudu Cardozo got a free kick in the 20th minute. Magno Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Válter Guedes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Válter Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Magno Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Vítor Zonta hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Avante's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Lucas came free, but Válter Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 played minutes Avante got a freekick which was hit by Maurinho Azevedo. Júlio Sabóia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zeca Cosme showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 44 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zeca Cosme to strike the kick off in the second half. Válter Guedes made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Magno Arce sent off a good shot on target. Magno Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th match minute, ɢɛʀѳʜʋʍʍєℓs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Lima to maneuver through the defense. If José Paulo Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 79th minute of the match Dudu Cardozo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Válter Guedes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Avante's Zeca Cosme sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio Sabóia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that José Paulo Pires's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio Sabóia was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the match, Avante's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Lucas came free, but Válter Guedes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
