Caco de Salles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Caco de Salles didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. If Válbson da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caco de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Mineiro in the 21st minute of play. Kaká Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 32nd minute of the match, Rodolfo Mineiro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Caco de Salles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 35 minutes into the match, Sanguessuga's goalkeeper Caco de Salles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Válbson da Silveira. Genipapo SC's Lucas Silva couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sanguessuga. Caco de Salles made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Válbson da Silveira sent off a good shot on target. Caco de Salles was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rodolfo Mineiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 41 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Rodolfo Mineiro made the kick off in the second half. Válbson da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Fabiano Neves fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sanguessuga's protests and gave Fabiano Neves a yellow card for diving instead. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Válbson da Silveira sped through Sanguessuga's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Caco de Salles. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Silva in the 61st minute of play forced Sanguessuga's goalkeeper Caco de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sanguessuga's Dedê Almeida got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Rodolfo Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caco de Salles having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Genipapo SC's Sandrinho Barbosa got a free kick in the 67th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Sanguessuga's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson da Silveira came free, but Caco de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genipapo SC's Agostinho Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaká Motta in the 72nd minute of play. Caco de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cafu Bittencourt in the 74th minute of play. If Válbson da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gilmar Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Sanguessuga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilmar Linhares couldn't finish the play. Caco de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodolfo Mineiro in the 88th minute of play.
