The audience was convinced that Arnaldo Paraíba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laerte Secco was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. If Dênis Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Gláuber Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Stormbringers FC's Danilo Arantes got a free kick in the 23rd minute. When Danilo Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stormbringers FC's protests and gave Danilo Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. Danilo Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Laerte Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Paraíba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Osvaldo Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Dinei de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Stormbringers FC's Osvaldo Santana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flavinho Leal. That made the score 0-1 after 52 minutes of play. Dênis Marinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Osvaldo Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Leal having to interfere. Dênis Marinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stormbringers FC's Laerte Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Paraíba in the 68th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Santana got free with Flavinho Leal in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Borussia's Arnaldo Paraíba in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stormbringers FC's goalie prevented a goal. 79 minutes into the game, Gláuber Ferreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Laerte Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gláuber Ferreira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laerte Secco having to make a save. Laerte Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gláuber Ferreira in the 91st minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Dênis Marinho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavinho Leal. Dênis Marinho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2.
