Spectators: 7180 (Terracing: 5387, Seating: 1651, VIP seats: 142) Nexus Club's Silvério Carvalho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Nexus Club's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Santana came free, but Norberto Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Nexus Club getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jonas Dionísio hit a great ball. Norberto Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Marinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Carvalho in the 17th minute of play forced Stormbringers FC's goalkeeper Laerte Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Benjamin Brasil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Augusto Vergílio missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 28 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Norberto Tavares right hand side. After 29 minutes, Laércio Vides mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nexus Club and the Stormbringers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 29th minute, Laércio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Nexus Club defense, Osvaldo Santana kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norberto Tavares. The Nexus Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norberto Tavares should have stopped the shot. Luís Paulo da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Norberto Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37thth minute of the game Osvaldo Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nexus Club's Norberto Tavares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 40 minutes, Dênis Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stormbringers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dênis Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Osvaldo Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Tavares having to interfere. Osvaldo Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 49th minute, Silvério Carvalho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Laerte Secco. The goal made the score 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dênis Marinho to strike the kick off in the second half. Silvério Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Secco having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Caetano Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laerte Secco was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. After 63 played minutes Stormbringers FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Paulo da Silva. Silvério Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laerte Secco having to interfere. A collision led to Nexus Club getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Moisés Lago hit a great ball. Norberto Tavares made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Osvaldo Santana sent off a good shot on target. If Silvério Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laerte Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Nexus Club's Caetano Carvalho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Laerte Secco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei de Lima during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Stormbringers FC got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Marinho. Laerte Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Carvalho in the 94th minute of play. When Dênis Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Stormbringers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dênis Marinho couldn't finish the play.
