The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Santana got free with Thiago de Azevedo in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute Marquinhos Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laerte Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Stormbringers FC defense, José Vítor da Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laerte Secco. The Stormbringers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laerte Secco should have stopped the shot. Thiago de Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dênis Marinho's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, Santo FC's Iuri Almeida got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes into the game, José Vítor da Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stormbringers FC the free kick. 30 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Ramalho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laerte Secco. Stormbringers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Ramalho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Osvaldo Santana could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Thiago de Azevedo made a huge save. A collision led to Santo FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Iuri Almeida hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Dênis Marinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Dênis Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dênis Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tomé Cavalcante's late challenge caught a Stormbringers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomé Cavalcante helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Santo FC's Tomé Cavalcante got a free kick in the 51st minute. Dênis Marinho spun around in front of the goal 53 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Santo FC's goal. Sandro Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Santo FC's Marquinhos Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Stormbringers FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Dinei de Lima hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Osvaldo Santana had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago de Azevedo. Santo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Santana was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Thiago de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Marinho in the 80th minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Ramalho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Laerte Secco. Marquinhos Ramalho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. If Dinei de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Stormbringers FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Santo FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Santo FC.
