After having played for 16 minutes, Alexandre Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perobal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ronaldo Gaúcho sped through Maroto AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jefferson Gonçalves. Jailson Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Moura having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ronaldo Gaúcho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jefferson Gonçalves was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Arnaldo Moura made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jailson Fontes in the 43rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronaldo Gaúcho in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jefferson Gonçalves saved Maroto AD from getting behind. Glauco Lira hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ronaldo Sabóia was the one to do the kick off. Maroto AD's Jefferson Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Garcia in the 51st minute of play. Alexandre Pitta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oséias Ferreira fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 56th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. If Celsinho Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celsinho Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Gonçalves having to interfere. Ronaldo Sabóia charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronaldo Sabóia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 played minutes Maroto AD got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Sabóia. Celsinho Prado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Ronaldo Sabóia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnaldo Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jailson Fontes in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Maroto AD getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Geovanni Matorin hit a great ball. Romeu Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Ronaldo Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perobal's Ronaldo Gaúcho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 94th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match was over Perobal could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Maroto AD throughout the match.
