In the 33rd match minute, Maroto AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséas Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. In the 36thth minute of the game Cristian Novaes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maroto AD's Jefferson Gonçalves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maroto AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldo Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tamanqueira's supporters rose to their feet, but José Carlos Pitta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
