Spectators: 7263 (Terracing: 5449, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Luiz Fernando Meira started the match with the kick off. Miguel Gomes came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Fluminense's Miguel Sena. But to his dismay, Miguel Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 9th minute Caco Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flávio Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1-1 became the score in the 10th minute when Luiz Fernando Meira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 14 played minutes, Anecoico FC's Fernandinho Costa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Flávio Paiva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Anecoico FC reached it. In the 15th match minute, Anecoico FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remo Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Anecoico FC's Giovani Travassos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flávio Paiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Alessandro Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fernando Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Flávio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remo Ferraz got his second yellow card in the match during the 31st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Remo Ferraz hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Luisinho Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Miguel Gomes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fluminense's Flávio Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Vidal in the 37th minute of play. Anecoico FC's Sebastião Figueiredo got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the game, Leonardo Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anecoico FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fluminense the free kick. Leonardo Tavares kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. If Luisinho Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luisinho Tróia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Walmyr de Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fluminense and the Anecoico FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Fluminense getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Walmyr de Moraes hit a great ball. Fluminense's Flávio Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Fluminense from getting a goal against them. Luiz Fernando Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Ian Costa got in the 54th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Miguel Gomes handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Caco Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Flávio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastião Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Anecoico FC's Caco Vidal got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Fluminense's Flávio Paiva got control of the ball when Caco Vidal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Caco Vidal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Flávio Paiva firmly grabbed it by the left post. Caco Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Flávio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Fluminense booed when Anecoico FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Travassos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caco Vidal in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Flávio Paiva, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Flávio Paiva managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Anecoico FC's Caco Vidal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Luiz Fernando Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Caco Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Tavares in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flávio Paiva saved Fluminense from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caco Vidal got free with Flávio Paiva in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 91st match minute, Fluminense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Novaes to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fernando Meira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Flávio Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
