After 9 played minutes, Gladiadores's Belmiro Palmeira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Percy Prestes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gladiadores reached it. In the 15th minute, Aloísio Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aloísio Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo de Senna having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Capixaba got free with Gustavo de Senna in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35 minutes, Washington Alcântara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gladiadores and the S.C. Brutamontes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Washington Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. A hard shot 36 in the game by Basílio Capixaba from a close distance when the talented Gustavo de Senna managed to make a qualified save. Gladiadores's players were relieved. Aloísio Oliveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo de Senna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Erik Valladares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo de Senna made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Basílio Capixaba sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Capixaba in the 43rd minute of play forced Gladiadores's goalkeeper Gustavo de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The long shot by Alfredão Camargo in the 47th minute really tested Gustavo de Senna's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Basílio Capixaba was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute, Gilmar Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 59 minutes into the match, Gladiadores's Belmiro Palmeira broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 63 minutes into the game, one of Gladiadores:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 72nd minute, Basílio Capixaba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C. Brutamontes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Washington Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Percy Prestes made a huge save. Erik Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, S.C. Brutamontes's Basílio Capixaba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo de Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Adriano Alagoano fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.C. Brutamontes's protests and gave Adriano Alagoano a yellow card for diving instead. After 87 played minutes S.C. Brutamontes got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Xavier.
