Agnaldo Bezerra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Rosa went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Milosz Wozniak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo Negri hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ivo Hermes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luís Fernando Pena. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, novorizontino's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Narciso Senna. If Felipe Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Felipe Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. novorizontino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipe Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute, Matías Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40thth minute of the game Felipe Rosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Macaiba AF's Agnaldo Bezerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Macaiba AF's Agnaldo Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Rosa in the 46th minute of play. Tião Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fernando Pena having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Paulo Negri during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Agnaldo Bezerra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Agnaldo Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Ivo Hermes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macaiba AF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 69th minute, Felipe Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felipe Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adrianinho Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. novorizontino's Frederico Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 82 minutes of play, Macaiba AF's Ivo Hermes made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luís Fernando Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Felipe Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The long shot by Paulo Renato Baptista in the 93rd minute really tested Agnaldo Bezerra's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Felipe Rosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agnaldo Bezerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Rosa ran back to his position shaking his head.
