But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Capixaba couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Piem getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Ivo Linares hit a great ball. The S.C. Brutamontes fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when S.C. Brutamontes's Jaime Xavier looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aloísio Oliveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Capixaba in the 13th minute of play forced Piem's goalkeeper Breno Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Capixaba might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Breno Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Capixaba ran back to his position shaking his head. If Aloísio Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Capixaba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. S.C. Brutamontes's Aloísio Oliveira got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Capixaba in the 37th minute of play forced Piem's goalkeeper Breno Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basílio Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Piem's Dráusio Gaúcho in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.C. Brutamontes's goalie prevented a goal. Breno Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aloísio Oliveira in the 52nd minute of the match. After 55 minutes, Antônio Fernandes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piem and the S.C. Brutamontes players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Piem getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Antônio Fernandes hit a great ball. When Basílio Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the S.C. After 75 played minutes Piem got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Fernandes. Basílio Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Breno Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C. Brutamontes. Zé Augusto Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Piem's zone, Jaime Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breno Tavares came out of the goal and Jaime Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the match, Piem's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Capixaba came free, but Breno Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Breno Tavares came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by S.C. Brutamontes's Basílio Capixaba. But to his dismay, Basílio Capixaba quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. A collision led to Piem getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Antônio Fernandes hit a great ball. S.C. Brutamontes played a much better game than Piem and deserved their victory. The Piem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
