But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorginho Macedo couldn't finish the play. After 26 minutes of play, Araçáunas's Charles Mendes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cícero Moreira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilson Aguiar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. Dalmo Cordeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cícero Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Quintal in the 34th minute of play forced Neverland's goalkeeper Cícero Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Neverland's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Mendes came free, but Cícero Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Cássio Prestes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neverland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Araçáunas the free kick. In the 42nd minute Charles Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cícero Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Araçáunas's zone, Wanderson Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Ortiz came out of the goal and Wanderson Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tião Tavares fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araçáunas's protests and gave Tião Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes Araçáunas got a freekick which was hit by Tião Tavares.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Charles Mendes made a kick off. Cícero Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Mendes in the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charles Mendes in the 56th minute of play forced Neverland's goalkeeper Cícero Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute, Ramiro Xavier made a precise shot to the right of Cícero Moreira. Neverland's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Queiroz in the 67th minute of play forced Araçáunas's goalkeeper Erik Ortiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cícero Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 94 minutes into the match, Charles Mendes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cícero Moreira, 0-3. Araçáunas's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
