An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Queiroz in the 9th minute of play forced Pierrot Calcio's goalkeeper Claudinei Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 9 played minutes Pierrot Calcio got a freekick which was hit by Germano Garcia. Olavo Xavier charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olavo Xavier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Olavo Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Olavo Xavier hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 43rd minute Betinho Bastos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Betinho Bastos might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudinei Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Betinho Bastos ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

56 minutes into the game, John Holm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Claudinei Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. John Holm fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Pinheiro having to interfere. Claudinei Pinheiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Bastos in the 60th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes John Holm rounded Pierrot Calcio's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. When Germano Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pierrot Calcio's protests and gave Germano Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Betinho Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imperial's supporters crossed their fingers, but Betinho Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pierrot Calcio's goalkeeper Claudinei Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Imperial fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Imperial's John Holm looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Pierrot Calcio's zone, John Holm stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Pinheiro came out of the goal and John Holm tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinei Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betinho Bastos in the 94th minute of play. Betinho Bastos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Claudinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Imperial could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pierrot Calcio throughout the match.
