Spectators: 0 (Terracing: 0, Seating: 0, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Rômulo Quadros got the match started through his kick off. In the 7th minute Waldemar Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edvaldo de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. When Rômulo Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Lança Negra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rômulo Quadros couldn't finish the play. Rômulo Quadros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Breno Faria struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Edvaldo de Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lança Negra. 17 minutes into the match, Lança Negra's goalkeeper Frank Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Faustão Saraiva. When Guga Botelho fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lança Negra's protests and gave Guga Botelho a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Lança Negra's Guga Botelho got a free kick in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Quadros in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edvaldo de Sousa saved Real Piranema CF from getting behind. Real Piranema CF's Faustão Saraiva got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Waldemar Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lança Negra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Piranema CF the free kick. After 31 played minutes Lança Negra got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Nunes. In the 33rdth minute of the game Rômulo Quadros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Piranema CF's Edvaldo de Sousa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Waldemar Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edvaldo de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rômulo Quadros in the 39th minute of play. Rômulo Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo de Sousa having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Gino Cosme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edvaldo de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Frank Cunha was a little too slow when Gilberto Castro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Afonsinho Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Mateus Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Waldemar Nunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frank Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. Faustão Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Cunha having to interfere. Gilberto Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Lança Negra fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Lança Negra's Rômulo Quadros looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 93 played minutes Real Piranema CF got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Castro. Lança Negra's Frank Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Saraiva in the 98th minute of play.
