When Alex Baiano, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 14 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Cristian Chaves was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's goalkeeper Cristian Chaves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wágner Machado. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Baiano in the 26th minute of play forced Atlético MS's goalkeeper Cristian Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wágner Machado in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristian Chaves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Vicentado SS's zone, Cícero Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laerte dos Santos came out of the goal and Cícero Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laerte dos Santos didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. Cristian Chaves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Baiano's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. In the 66th minute, Adhemar Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 72 minutes, Cícero Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético MS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cícero Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's goal looked a bit too open when Wágner Machado came free, but Cristian Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Wágner Machado notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Atlético MS's Cristian Chaves. Cícero Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Laerte dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicentado SS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
