Cícero Meirelles might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Telmo Esteves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cícero Meirelles ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerônimo de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. If Fábio Lira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético MS's Cícero Meirelles got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's Alan Barral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Telmo Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cícero Meirelles took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Telmo Esteves. Telmo Esteves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Cristian Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, Atlético MS's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Lira came free, but Cristian Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerônimo de Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Cristian Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fábio Lira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58thth minute of the game Cícero Meirelles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SUSSUARANA FC's Telmo Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 61 played minutes SUSSUARANA FC got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Rossi. In the 62nd minute, Anderson Lara sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SUSSUARANA FC's Telmo Esteves didn't even have to move. Lucas Porto charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucas Porto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Atlético MS fans cheered their team off the field, for while SUSSUARANA FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
