Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Acácio Barros started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Edson Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poncianos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Areal the free kick. 4 minutes into the match, Fausto Moura notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Poncianos's Zé Paulo Lucas. Zé Paulo Lucas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zé Paulo Lucas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Moura went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Fausto Moura scored 0-3 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Paulo Lucas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rdth minute of the game Fausto Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poncianos's Zé Paulo Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Poncianos getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Acácio Barros hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Acácio Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poncianos's supporters rose to their feet, but Acácio Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celsinho Passos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fiori Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celsinho Passos having to interfere. Célio Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zé Paulo Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Moura to make the kick off. Zé Paulo Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Moura in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute Fausto Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Lucas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 61 minutes, Célio Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Areal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Célio Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rd minute, Poncianos's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fausto Moura fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Edson Amorim hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Poncianos's Zé Paulo Lucas got control of the ball when Célio Sergipano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 86th minute Edson Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celsinho Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celsinho Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio Barros in the 87th minute of the match. Fausto Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Acácio Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Celsinho Passos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Areal booed when Poncianos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Areal's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
