The penalty shot was made by Felipe Meirelles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of TMFC's José Paulo Macedo. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Miranda in the 10th minute of play forced TMFC's goalkeeper José Paulo Macedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th match minute, TMFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar Lara to maneuver through the defense. José Paulo Macedo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ciro Miranda showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 23 minute of play. Ciro Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciro Miranda struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. José Paulo Macedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S. E. Zeviane. If Carlos Alberto Campidelis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulinho Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio das Neves in the 40th minute of play. When Túlio das Neves came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the TMFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Túlio das Neves couldn't finish the play.

A collision led to TMFC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Carlos Augusto das Neves hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciro Miranda in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Paulo Macedo saved TMFC from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as TMFC's Serginho Mangueira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulinho Tasso. That made the score 3-1 after 66 minutes of play. After 74 played minutes S. E. Zeviane got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Meirelles. Carlos Alberto Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute Ciro Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Túlio das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Paulinho Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
