Spectators: 7240 (Terracing: 5432, Seating: 1665, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dieguinho Sampaio kicked off to start the match. Wágner Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enéas Garcia in the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Enéas Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maranhão Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Enéas Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wágner Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dieguinho Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Almeida having to interfere. In the 10th minute Dieguinho Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eusébio Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luiz Fernandez hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Eusébio Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Paraibano in the 18th minute of play. Antônio Carlos Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Augusto Passos charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Augusto Passos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Carlos Augusto Passos hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Enéas Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieguinho Sampaio in the 28th minute of play forced Maranhão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Eusébio Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes Maranhão Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Cerezo. 33 minutes into the match, Arcion F.C.'s Raúl Paraibano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eusébio Almeida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Eusébio Almeida was a little too slow when Antônio Carlos Peixoto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 1-1. After having played for 56 minutes, Cléberson Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maranhão Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléberson Valladares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Arcion F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Enéas Garcia came free, but Wágner Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Arcion F.C. defense, Cléberson Valladares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wágner Lopez. The Arcion F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wágner Lopez should have stopped the shot. Dieguinho Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toninho Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Maranhão Futebol Clube's Toninho Fonseca got a free kick in the 68th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Arcion F.C.'s Jânio Nóbrega broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Enéas Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Maranhão Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enéas Garcia couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute, Paulão Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 played minutes, Maranhão Futebol Clube's Tiago Loyola shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wágner Lopez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maranhão Futebol Clube reached it. When Dieguinho Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Arcion F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho Sampaio couldn't finish the play. Eusébio Almeida made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Raúl Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. Raúl Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Almeida having to interfere. If Raúl Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Maranhão Futebol Clube had won after a very even match.
