Spectators: 7220 (Terracing: 5416, Seating: 1661, VIP seats: 143) After some careless play in the Gatinho EC defense, Andrézinho Dracena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Luís Pereira. The Gatinho EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Luís Pereira should have stopped the shot. In the 7th minute, Andrézinho Dracena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Açorianos rs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Andrézinho Dracena recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jânio Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Luís Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andrézinho Dracena in the 14th minute. After a rather tough play, Açorianos rs's Lúcio Medeiros got a free kick in the 15th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling André Luiz Rodrigues in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Falcão Britto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gatinho EC's Pedrão Schmidt suffered a concussion after 29 minutes and had to leave the field. After 29 minutes, Rafael Jacinto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Açorianos rs and the Gatinho EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rafael Jacinto hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. André Luís Pereira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jânio Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Gatinho EC's Zé Pedro Perez got a free kick in the 53rd minute. André Luís Pereira came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Açorianos rs's Andrézinho Dracena. But to his dismay, Andrézinho Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. When Faustão Alves came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Gatinho EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Alves couldn't finish the play. Vicente Sergipano's late challenge caught a Gatinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Sergipano helped the player get up and apologised. Faustão Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Falcão Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrézinho Dracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luís Pereira having to interfere. Faustão Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Falcão Britto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gatinho EC's André Luiz Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Açorianos rs's Falcão Britto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Açorianos rs from getting a goal against them. Faustão Alves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Falcão Britto came out and tried to block the shot, but Faustão Alves slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 94th minute. Gatinho EC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
